What happens when you mix embossing powder and vellum paper? You get GORGEOUS embossed butterflies!! Aren't the butterflies from the Papillon stamp set pretty? BTW, Papillon is butterfly in French. Now, back to the card, I am digging the papaya and watermelon paper combo. Cheery, fun and fresh! The watermelon was run through the Grand Caliber with the woodgrain embossing plate and then the spellbinder oval was cut out. The reason for that order was so the watermelon flower could be cut out of the textured oval piece.
I love the look of the butterflies on the vellum. The butterflies are stamped with versamark and then covered with white embossing powder and heated up. I love embossing. I think it's probably one of my favorite things with stamping because it always feels like magic when the powder heats up and changes to the lovely silky lines. Such loveliness! The flowers are die cut from the Flower Die Set 1 and the little teeny tiny daisy was colored papaya with a sponge dauber.
Here's the inside of the card - watermelon and papaya inks. (Another one of the butterflies from Papillon).
And here's a variation with a strip of vellum. The inside was the same as the card above.
What do you think? A couple of steps but still fairly simple cards.

Butterfly Popcorn Box
What happens when you mix the A Muse Studio popcorn box and the A Muse Studio Butterfly Trio dies? You get a great little gift box that can hold teas or candies or even popcorn! :)
The box was cut out of sage cardstock and then the butterflies were cut out of two panels prior to assembly. A panel of sage petite polka dot cardstock was placed behind each of the die cut sides and a strip of summer washi tape was placed on the other two box panels. A crop-a-dile was used to put two holes on each side of the box to thread the silky crush ribbon through. Isn't it pretty ribbon?! I ADORE it! It's just fabulous! It was actually hard for me to share it with my class because I love it so much and just wanted to hold it and look at it and drool over it. And, then I remembered I could buy more so I shared. :) LOL!
The box is finished off with some washi tape from the summer pack, some bubblegum buttons and some pink Easter grass.
Here are two tips.
1. I cut boxes out of the sage petite polka dot as well as the plain sage cardstock. Then, cut the sage boxes apart and placed the entire panel from the polka dot box behind the die cut sides. I tried it with smaller strips but thought it "showed" through the front and didn't care for that so found that cutting panels from the polka dot actually worked better for the project. Plus, it made the box a little sturdier for a heavier treat.
2. I crumpled up some scratch paper under the Easter grass. This helped fill part of the box and it gave a little better base for the chocolate candies which we used for the top. I ate the chocolate before the photo was taken but you can imagine how good it looked on the pink Easter grass. lol!

I love the petite polka dot apple mixed with the stamped items, don't you?

Americana Party Rosette
Are you ready for your Memorial Day or Fourth of July parties? If not, this is a perfect decoration to put together to finish off your look! Pull out your die-cutting machine and start crankin' to put this fun rosette decoration together!!!
The A Muse Studio dies make this a super easy project! First I cut two strips of cherry petite polka dot cardstock with the pointed spellbinder rosette die. The, I cut two blueberry gingham strips with the scalloped edge rosette die. I trimmed the blueberry gingham strips to 1 3/4" width so that the two would layer well so that both colors could be seen. A little red-line tape connected the ends and a little hot glue held the formed rosettes to a base circle. Stars in cherry gingham and plain cherry cardstock were layered on the rosette with the banner die cut in cherry petite polka dot draped across the front. Party from cupcake companion was stamped in cherry ink and layered on as well (some are popped up as you can see in the side view).

Happy Birthday Cards! CCT - Challenge 217
Here are a couple of bright and cheery birthday cards! I love the lime green and black combo, don't you? I guess maybe black isn't an ever so cheery color but I love it in combination with the brighter colors. And, the slate ink is perfect for giving it a more masculine feel, don't you agree?
here's the inside...
Or, how about a fun PINK b-day card? This is pink, pink, pink!
And, even more pink on the inside! I love it! Isn't that petite polka dot paper perfect in bubblegum pink?!!! Makes me so happy! A little washi tape is mixed in on the front of the card with some teeny tiny bling on the buttercup flowers. And, because there's a tiny bit of bling, I'm entering this card in the Cute Card Thursday challenge blog: Challenge 217 - A Touch of Sparkle. I've got that covered with just a teeny tiny touch. :)
I am hoping to get some posts put together a little more often in the near future. I've just been swamped. I have cards done - just need to get photos taken and posted. :)

Mitten Gift Tag!
Yep. You heard me. A mitten project in May! I was in the mood to play with Christmas things so that's what I did. :)
The large mitten die is paired with the swallows dies and the star trio dies. What do you think? It's all cutting with just a teeny tiny bit of stamping. I love die cuts, don't you? A little washi tape and a little onyx baker's twine finishes it off!
I think this would look great hanging off of a kraft gift bag or on top of a big ole Christmas present, don't you?
Happy Holidays! (lol!)
