I love, love, love embossing! I don't know why I don't do it more often so to make up for it, I went embossing crazy at my September card class. The ladies had a blast. We even did more embossing than planned as I forgot the black ink I needed for one project so yep, you guessed it - copper embossed mummy on the smartie holder shown in a recent blog post - and it worked just fine! (except for the long line at the embossing station - lol! )
I paired the Level A Hostess Set (you can get this with a $100 party/order for free!) with a sentiment and vintage snowflakes from Vintage Santa on the inside of the card. Doesn't it look yummy with the layering of the pink and brown and cream with the copper embossing?

Happy Birthday
The Funny Farm stamp set is a super set to use with birthday cards. I love that you can mix whimsy with some dressy papers and flowers to get a sweet little birthday card. And how about the shimmery purple gel pen to highlight the eyelids and polka dot "toes." cracks me up. :) What do you think?

"Anything But a Card" Angel Art Blog Hop
It's time for another Angel Art Blog Hop and I'm so excited to see all the fabulous creations. This month has the theme of "Anything But a Card." I made another Halloween treat holder and you can use it several different ways.
I was inspired by Lisa Somerville once again. I took her idea of a 3 test tube holder and shrunk it down. http://www.lisasomerville.com/2009/02/test-tube-holder-box-using-bigz-die-box.html
I used the Trick Or Treaters Stamp set for the little mummy and popped him up after adding a little grey tombow for depth. Aren't the googly eyes a fun touch?!
and how about instead of a candy treat, putting in chapstick? Wouldn't these make great stocking stuffers at Christmas? If you're interested in the pattern, please send me an e-mail: sbamethyst@gmail.com
What do you think? I hope you take the time to visit all the blogs below to see the other fabulous projects!

Blossoms
Here's a quick scrap card featuring the large flower from Blossoms and Blessings! Ok - it's quick except for cutting out the flower after coloring it with copics - but, really, it's not too bad!
The circle and scallop circle shape were cut with nestabilities. And, the green strip was run through the crimper (so fun and so quick!). It's a great way to use up scrap pieces of paper and cardstock - cut and layer all the pieces together.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! And, please check back Sunday as I'm participating in another Angel Art Blog Hop! This time the theme is "Anything but a card" so I can't wait to see what everyone creates!

fun with retired sets
I pulled out some of my favorite retired TAC sets and made a few cards. The Wizard and Spellbinder Nestabilities cut the circle, oval and scalloped shapes. What do you think?
Happy Stamping!

another cute little kitty!
What do you think of this cute little kitty? I think Fibi and Lilly are so fun to color and I love the rich blendable colors you can get with the Copic markers. I used Copic Caboodles B markers (currently out of stock) and Copic Caboodle B cardstock.
I was at my mom's over Labor Day week-end and there were several sets of baby kitties. It was so fun to watch them pounce and play with each other but darn their mamas as they were doing everything they could to keep them wild. We caught one once but not again. My niece and nephew did a good job of letting the others know we were coming. "Why are they running away, Sees?" "Why are they scared, Sees?" "Why do we have to be quiet, Sees?" lol! Subtlety is not a trait of the 3 and 5 year olds but I wouldn't trade the experience of seeing life through their eyes for a couple of days. :)

Love You
Sorry for the week break between posts. We host three conferences a year at work and this year, two of those conferences fell two weeks apart. Whew! Let me tell you - I am one tired puppy! There are the wrap-up details to take care of but it's good to have the lion's share of the work finished. So - now back to the fun stuff!
Here are three different versions of the same card that all express a simple "love you" message. What a great group of cards to have on hand to tell someone special that you love and appreciate them.
These cards fall into the "super quick" category. A mega oval scalloped punch, TAC Love You Hostess B stamp set (yours free with a $250 party), an ek success punch border, a contrasting strip and a base card. I used a retired Bazzill monochromatic paper pack. Cut, stamp, punch, assemble and write your note. What could be better than that?
