Happy Happy Birthday

Here's a sweet, happy, happy birthday guaranteed to bring a smile.
I love the delicate yellow colors and the super sweet image from TAC Sunday Stroll. Prismacolor pencils and Skintone Pencils are the coloring medium along with a little Goo Gone for blending. Scalloped scissors finish off the sentiment and it's all layered on a piece of DCVW Neutrals with TAC Black cardstock and TAC White ultrasmooth.

Super Fun Week-end Stamping Retreat!

Take a fun group of ladies, a bunch of wonderful projects and a beautiful location by the lake and what do you have? FABULOUS FUN loaded with CREATIVITY! Heather arranges these wonderful retreats for her team and they're just "oz-some!" (Thanks, Heather, for being the best angel g'ma a girl could have!!!) We stamped and stamped and stamped and laughed and laughed and laughed! What could be better? Here's the group after supper on Saturday (thanks, Diana, for the pic!).
We had our prop swap gift exchange during supper and the projects were beyond fabulous! I got this wonderful cookie tin calendar made by Robyn and it's sooo great!!!
Here's the prop swap I made. And, here's what it looked like when I picked it up off the clearance aisle at HL and how I got the gold things off (thanks, Debi, for that tip!) and then I covered it. I'm working on another one for a birthday gift!

For this retreat we each make a shoebox project - enough parts for everyone to make one. This is my project the one-layer border background card. You've seen it here before and here's one for Christmas! I just love this technique!

So, now I'm exhausted and brimming with creative juices. It's a good combo! :)

A Happy "Bee" Angel

No time to post many details today but at least you'll have something new to look at for a while. I did this with my class this month and it was a big hit! Isn't the angel fun as a "bee angel"?!! And, she's shimmery too! Click on her pic to make her bigger and you'll really see her shine! Love that clear gelly shimmer pen!!! Love this TAC Hear the Angels set too!!!

Cuttlebug Emboss Resist Technique

I love, love, love the cuttlebug resist technique. I have to resist (LOL!) doing every card with this style! (is it wrong to start a post with that bad of a pun? hee hee!) :)

So, how about a fun birthday card with a fab background accent that has a little sparkly added too (click on the pic to make it larger to see the sparkly details)! I love the new Sending Happy Thoughts stamp set and thought it would be a perfect partner for this technique! And, it's a flat card so it will go easily through the postal system. yea!

Here's the inside - simple but keeps the birthday wishes going!
Card parts: Cardstock: Kraft, Glossy, White Ultrasmooth, Black; TAC Stamps: Sending Happy Thoughts, Birthday Wishes, Level C Hostess Set "Thinking of You"; Ink: Palette L'Amore Red; Punches: Super Jumbo Scalloped Circle, Extra Jumbo Scalloped Circle; Misc: Stardust Clear Gelly Pen

Thanks for dropping by my blog and Happy Stamping!

Paper Piecing

I love paper piecing! Isn't the little mouse super cute in her paperpieced ensemble? I love it! It may look difficult but it's really not. All you have to do is stamp your image on your base paper and then stamp it again on patterned paper. Cut out what you want to paper piece and then glue it to your base! Now, Heather taught me a great little short cut for those super small pieces. Stamp your image on the patterned paper and then put doublestick tape on the back of the image before you cut it out. Then, you can cut out your paper pieced parts and they'll be ready to stick to your paper - no fuss, no muss! Thanks, Heather, for the super tip! card parts: TAC Stamps: Have a Mice Day and Just Because; Cardstock/Paper: Kraft, Black, White Ultrasmooth, Winterberry; Ink: Palette Noir; Other: Pink and Black Scrapper's Floss, Cloud Scissors, Giga Scalloped Square Punch, Pop-it Pop Dots

*edit: Barb F. caught that I forgot to list something in my card "recipe." yep, it's the champagne dazzle versamark and aged ornaments stamped behind the sentiment. love the sparkly versamark!!!

Scalloped Circles

There are several truths in life and one of those is that a stamper can never have too many punches! LOL! How about some scalloped circle action on the card fronts? I just love scalloped circle punches and we have three sizes which can be used in sooooo many ways. Here are a couple of quick and easy cards that use those wonderful punches.

Card parts: Cardstocks: White ultrasmooth and Brown; Palette Inks: Beaux Arts Blue and Burnt Umber; TAC stamps: Swirlies and Birthday Wishes; Punches: Mega Scalloped Circle, Super Jumbo Scalloped Circle; Other: Pop Dots

Card Parts: Paper and cardstock: white ultrasmooth, bazzill red violets and genevieve (retired); TAC Stamps: Simply Divine; Ink: Palette Noir; Punches: Giga Scalloped Circle, Mega Circle; Other: Aquacolor Crayons (love them!) and water mister (check out dollar stores for small cheap mister bottles and use them with your aquacolor crayons - awesome!)

Sock Hop and Equestrian Fabulosity!

I have to start by saying how wonderful it was to watch my niece ride this week-end. Isn't she beautiful! And, so talented! She'd just finished the course at this point and she and Chief were heading out of the pen. I've seen her jump at her house (she's got jumps in her front yard) but it was great to see her all decked out and in competition mode. So proud of her!!!

Spent the week-end with family so didn't get much stamping done but sure had fun! So, here's a card I did recently with the fabulous sock hop set we got at seminar after our super fun sock hop (we even had some crashers from the wedding dance next door - that's how fun it was!). I used the clear gelly pen on the glasses and also to add detail to the poodle. Love that pen! OK - you really can't see it even when you click on the photo and make it larger so you're going to have to trust me on how shimmery and fabulous that detail looks! Just Because is the perfect stamp set to finish it off (outside: "Just Because" and on the inside it says "you're fabulous!). Don't the scalloped scissors make a great detail on the edge of the sentiment! Love them! And, guess what - my card is a perfect fit for Heather's sketch (ok - it's perfect in my mind - lol!) so pop over to see what she does with it too!
