A classic card and a fun award!

Hi all! I am posting a card that I made a couple of weeks ago. It was one of those perfect moments where I tried a couple of things and just LOVED the result. I used the script background stamp (it's very faint in the background), spring dreams, black satin ribbon, TAC black cardstock, white ultrasmooth cardstock and prismacolor pencils. I love the elegant simplicity of this card. It almost falls into Heather's latest sketch challenge but not quite. :) I'll count as a nod to her sketch and one of these days, I hope to have time to really jump into her sketches and create!!

I spent the week-end working with my photographer friends at a wrestling tournament. It made my day to come home and see that Heather had selected my blog for the Pico and You Made My Day award!!! How fun and just the perfect day brightener after a super busy week-end. Thank you, Heather!

There are 5 rules attached to this and they are:

1) You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserve
this award for their creativity, design, interesting
material, and also contributes to the blogging
community, no matter what language.

2) Each award has to have the name of the author and
also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.

3) Each award winner has to show the award and put
the name and link to the blog that has given her or him
the award itself.

4) Award-winner and the one who has given the prize
have to show the link of "Oz-somestamps" blog , so
everyone will know the origin of this award.

5) To show these rules.

The 5 blogs that I choose are all from my SBS4 gang:

Deb
Chris
Marjorie
Marcia
Sparkle

Check them out!!! I am sure you will be as inspired as I am by their talents as well as everyone else I have listed in the links on the side of my blog!

Happy Stamping!

Sesame Street Personality Quiz

OK - this is a hoot! This personality quiz was on Nic's website. She's one of my SBS4 sisters. :) The quiz is very short and fun and ironically, kind of summed me up pretty well. My saddest times are when my friends don't want to play with me (and luckily that's not too often!). :) Have a great day!!!

You Are Ernie

Playful and childlike, you are everyone's favorite friend - even if your goofy antics get annoying at times.

You are usually feeling: Amused - you are very easily entertained

You are famous for: Always making people smile. From your silly songs to your wild pranks, you keep things fun.

How you life your life: With ease. Life is only difficult when your friends won't play with you!

Note cards - simple and pretty

Have finally had some time to stamp and have been playing with some of my newest TAC stamp sets, one of which I'll share with you today. I'm trying to catch up on a bunch of "to do" items that have been hanging around. I've got cards to make and another website to create and some swaps to do and my full-time job to do too! But you know what? I haven't been this busy in a long time and I love it! Why? Because it's creative and enriching and it's led me to so many new friends! Can there be anything better than making new friends? Nope!

So, here's what I've been working on. What do you think? I made the "cow" card with An'Udder Birthday (isn't this a darling set? and the card says "you're fabulous" inside from the Just Because stamp set) and then look how I used the giga merchandise tag punch on the next card. fun stuff. I'll post more another day. :)

Happy Stamping!

Easter baskets

Here are some super simple Easter baskets I made for my student workers and also for a few students from Central America who are currently studying in the US. I just love the simplicity of the pattern. I used the scallop punches - giga and mega, tag tidbits and mini occasion stamp sets to finish off the design. As I mentioned, they're very simple and good thing because I didn't start them until 12:30 a.m. and finished them all in about an hour. whew! It was worth it though because they each got a kick out of them. I hope to make more before Easter. :)

Thanks for stopping by and Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

You Made My Day!

I'm very honored! I was nominated twice by fellow SBS4 sisters for the "You Make My Day" award. How neat! I have really enjoyed being a part of this group of talented ladies. I've got links to their blogs on the right sidebar on my blog. You should pop in to their blogs and take a look at their fabulous creations. I'm always inspired!

And, I was tagged by Yanitza to post 7 random things about myself on my blog. Hmm -
1. I was born in 1968 but my grandfather was born in 1862 (106 years earlier)! Yep, it's true!
2. There were 7 people in my graduating class from high school.
3. I studied in France for a summer during college.
4. I love to read but haven't taken much time to do that lately (too much stamping!)
5. I have fabulous friends!
6. I am a procrastinator but am trying to get better.
7. I am not always easy because I care deeply and get emotionally involved! (or is that overly emotionally involved! LOL)

I would tag others but this has probably been around so just know that everyone who's blog I visit has made my day because I learn so much! Thanks for stopping by. I'll hopefully be posting some cards tomorrow!

Thanks, Chris and Marjorie and Yanitza, for making my day!

A fun Easter card

Here is my swap card from today. I used Ocean 2 matchmaker cardstock with the white core background and the new Pattern Sayings stamp set from the spring supplement. After stamping the image with noir (black) palette ink, I used a dove blender pen and shimmers chalk to color in the images. I used the saran wrap technique on glossy cardstock with palette violette ink. Love that shade of purple. I finished it off with scor-pal lines sanded. (yep, I'm an addict... hee hee!). Here's a close-up so you can see how much it shimmers. Such an easy and fun technique!

Also, on the previous post, I've had a question about the order that I created the cards. I scored, sanded and then stamped. Thanks, Jane, for the question. :)

Happy Stamping!

So many specials!

Hey all - it's DOUBLE Hostess Benefits time!! Yep, you read it right. For March and April, hostess and gift with purchase benefits are doubled! It's an awesome way to pick up the hostess stamps sets and half-priced items! And, if you want to sign up to become an angel, you get $50 in free stamps in addition to all of the wonderful items you get with your start-up kit!

And, the Spring Supplement is out!!! Woo hoo!!! The stamps are FABULOUS!!! I want them all and have already gotten some!!! Check them out!

Wing workout is later today and I've used Pattern Sayings to make my swap card for the business meeting. I'll post that after the meeting.

Here are a few cards that I've been playing with that show off the scallop punches and the scor-pal. I just love the variations and options you can get with these tools. :) The stamp sets that are featured are Chicken Scratch, With Sympathy, and Simply Divine. These are great sets that can be used in so many ways. And, I love the variations you can get with the scor-pal. I used the matchmaker white core cardstock and it looks great sanded or just with the scored lines and no sanding. Neat options.
