A night of fun!

I just got home from the monthly card class that I teach. I am so lucky to have such great ladies to call as friends. We laughed and stamped and played and it was wonderful! I've been teaching my class at home but we've started doing a "tour of homes" via stamping so hey - less cleaning for me! But, you'll love this - I wanted to feature the scor-pal and guess what I left on my crafting table - my Scor-pal! AAARGGHHH! They were great about it and Deb had her trimmer with scorer so we made due (Thanks bunches, Deb!) but geesh! Ah well, that just made it funny too. We made 6 cards. 3 were z-fold card variations like the one in a previous post and 3 were sympathy card made with (ahem) scor-pal lines. Here's a card that has a similar "feel" to the ones we "kind of" made tonight. It was my swap card for the week-end so I made 60 and with the scor-pal, they went really fast!!! :)

And, I had a blast at the week-end stamping retreat that I went to and guess what? I won a card challenge! It was awesome!!! So, here's the card and now I need to buy this stamp set! :) fun, fun! Thanks, Mary P., for letting me borrow the stamps. :)

More scor-pal fun

Here is a fun and simple card that once again features that fabulous scor-pal! My SBS4 sister, Marjorie, challenged us to think outside the box with a color palette of olive, cranberry, outdoor denim and indian corn blue. Here's my creation. It features one of my new favorite stamp sets, simply divine, which I paired with tag tidbits and my new giga square scalloped punch. It's layered on some blue from matchmaker and a base of that fabulous olive cardstock. And, did you figure out where the scor-pal came into play? LOL! I love the sanding effect on matchmaker, esp. with this color combination as I felt it would look best distressed.

And, you know what? I love this color combination but I never would have put it together on my own. Thanks, Marjorie!!!

Scor-Pal - Now this is fun stuff!!!

My Valentine's treat was getting my TAC order. I got the Scor-Pal and I love, love, love it!!!! Wow, there are so many great cards you can make with this tool. I can't wait to try everything.

I went to the scor-pal website and followed the Z-Fold card tutorial. Here is my take on it. I used black cardstock, accented with Uptown Girl paper (I love pink and black!!!). I used the simply divine stamp set (one of my new favorites!) and chicken scratch for the sentiment. And, I used the giga scalloped punch, the mega scalloped punch and the third ring from the center of the coluzzle circle to finish off the design.

Here is a design that was influenced from a card on Heather's site. I just love the simplicity of a couple of scored lines on the side of a card. The sentiment is a GWP (Gift with Purchase) stamp from our last catalog. And, I used one of the smaller stamps in simply divine to add another touch. I stamped with versamark on the matchmaker cardstock and sanded the flowers and the score lines to bring the card to life. Don't you just love the blue and black together?

So Girly!

I have admired this stamp set for a while now and I finally caved and purchased it. So Girly is soooooo cute! And, I see tons of potential with this set including bunches of happy friends who will happily (and hopefully) be receiving note cards and birthday cards made with these stamps. I made this as a notecard with the Just Because stamp set. The front says "just because" and inside it says "you're you" and has the last of the 4 So Girly girls. I used a retired paper set "Simply Spooky" to paper piece the dresses and layered the ultrasmooth white cardstock on top of matchmaker cardstock. I cased the side design element from a card that my friend, Debi, recently put together. So cute!

To my SBS4 sisters, I can't wait for the secret sister exchange. What fun!

Sassy Cat

Check out this Sassy Cat! I made this card for a swap in December. I wanted to do something on white cardstock to show that white could be a fabulous background too. I love how the crystal stickles highlight the swirly fancy curls background stamp and the collar on the sassy cat. And, how wonderful is the bordeaux ink? A lusciously deep rich pink! Just Because is a great stamp set that can be used so many ways and then some eyelets finish it off perfectly. Oh, and did I mention the scrappers floss? love it!
